STATEMENT OF INTENT FROM THE TRUSTEES
Following the AGM held 11.01.16, a new committee of Trustees has been formed to run the Longhoughton Village Development Trust. The Trust is effectively the Longhoughton Sports and Community Centre. The committee consists of five new trustees and four existing trustees who are continuing in this role.
Firstly, the Trustees would like to thank all the Trustees and volunteers who have helped the Trust through its first few years to establish what is a very successful community facility.
The Trustees wish to build on this success. The football side is very strong serving most of North Northumberland and we wish to see this consolidated and extended if possible.
The Trustees are also committed to the development of the Community Centre for Longhoughton and the surrounding area. We would like it to be enhanced into a Centre for the benefit of the community and community organisations in providing social, educational and training services for all ages.
The committee is encouraged by the support for the development of the Centre shown by the number of local people who attended the AGM and especially those who volunteered to get involved. The Trustees are also focusing on improved communications with the residents so that people and organisations are more familiar with the activities at the Centre and can express their views on the development programme.
